LUSAKA, Nov 24 (Reuters) – Zambia experienced a nationwide power outage on Sunday due to a “power system disturbance,” according to the state utility company, Zesco.

The blackout began around 18:15 GMT, leaving the entire country without electricity. Zesco has confirmed that they are working diligently to address the unexpected outage and are in the process of restoring power to all affected areas. While the utility has not specified when power will be fully restored, they are making every effort to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

This outage underscores the ongoing challenges facing Zambia’s power infrastructure, which has struggled with reliability in recent years. The government and Zesco are under increasing pressure to enhance the electricity supply to support the nation’s economic growth and development.
