The Ghana Business Standard Awards [GBSA] is an event brand that has been happening over the years. It recognizes and celebrates the achievements of businesses, entrepreneurs, and organizations in Ghana. The event aims to honor exceptional performance across various sectors including health, finance, manufacturing, technology, aviation, transport and retail among other businesses in Ghana who have shown excellence with overall impact in the Ghanaian market. Individuals as business leaders and organizations have achieved the business standards in their sectors of operation with responsible business standards that adheres to the local business requirements while consistently improving their organizations performance and leadership growth.
This year, the 7th edition commenced with CEO, Mr. Oheneba Kwabena Kena expressing his gratitude to distinguished guests, esteemed board members and honored participants of the event. In his welcoming address ‘Our gathering today is a testament to the commitment and resilience of businesses that have embraced excellence, contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of our nation’- Mr. Oheneba Kwabena Kena.

The event had industry players such as Mrs. Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare, [MD, Ghana Airports Company Limited]. Charles Antwi-Boahen, [CEO, Kab-Fam Ghana Limited], Dr. Edwin Alfred Provencal [CEO, Bulk Oil Storage and Transport Company Ltd], Mr. Sajid Khan, [General Manager, Tang Palace Hotel- Hospitality] presence gracing the occasion. Also both governmental organizations and private companies like Aviance Ghana, Emirates Airline, Sonotech Medical Centre, Supermaritime Ghana, Mds- lancet Laboratories Ghana, Orica Ghana, Koa Impact Ghana Limited,Mayiya Investements Ltd and many more due to their tremendous contributions in their sectors.
During the EU Delegation to Ghana, Mr. Raffaele Quarto speech at the event, he said;
‘‘Sustainable growth is more than a goal; it is a necessity. As we face the challenges of climate change, resource depletion, and social inequality, it is imperative that our businesses lead the way in adopting practices that safeguard our future. This requires bold leadership, a commitment to ethical standards, and a relentless pursuit of innovation”.
He continued by saying how proud he is that businesses in Ghana are raising the bar in various sectors and Africa as a whole. He then congratulated all winners on their hard work over the years.

The award is always graded by a research board that runs independent survey using engagement criteria such as customer loyalty, creative innovations, market dominance, quality services and corporate responsibilities with industry merits. Customers feedback is crucial in this award scheme as well. The purpose for the event is for all the players in these sectors to connect, help enhance each individual and organization growth through rapport building and connection which at the end of the day all sectors benefits and use to thrive. All attendees, at the awards events put together at a common setting are breaking barriers of excellence across Ghana business region and the world at large.
